All Intensive Mandarin courses are available for duration between 1 week or 52 weeks. The Intensive Chinese courses begin every Monday of the year and are capped at a maximum of 6 students per class. Intense courses consist of 16 hours classes per week.They are also divided into four levels: beginner, low-intermediate, intermediate, and advanced. Students themselves can choose if they want Simplified or Traditional format. This is the most popular course among the long-term travelers in Taiwan. Students can expect to complete each of the levels within 6- 8 weeks. The classes for each Intensive Chinese course and level start every Monday at 9am or 11am.

Combo Mandarin Courses begin at TMI every Monday of the year and consist of the original 16 Hours per week Intensive course + an additional 8 Hours per week Private 1/1 lessons. Totaling at 24 Hours per week, the combo Mandarin course is the best option if you really want to pack in as much Chinese lessons as possible for your stay in Taiwan. The combo course is popular among a wide range of persons including Students who are preparing for exams and want to cover their own exam related material with their teacher and also popular among senior students who like to have additional lessons on top of the group class for extra revision.

Private One-to-One Mandarin courses begin at TMI every Monday of the year. Private lessons are a great way to improve or begin your mandarin studies and are also popular with advanced almost native Chinese speakers or simply a student who wishes to progress in a non-group environment. During the lesson, you can choose to learn your own material or follow material issued by the teacher. Class schedule times are flexible and our admissions team can schedule the class to a time that you have requested depending on availability. Private Mandarin lessons at TMI can be taken from 2 to 4 hours per day with the weekly amount ranging from 2 to 20 hours per week depending on your requirements. Short term courses can be completed and finished within 1 day/2 hours

***Important Notice: Online Classes for new students are currently not available***All Online Mandarin Chinese courses are via a Private 1/1 platform. Each package purchased is via 20,40 or 100 Hour blocks( Ranging from 800 TWD to 950 TWD per hour). Online courses consist of 2 hours instruction at a time and students can choose 2,4 or 6 Hours per week. Students can choose timeslots ranging from 8.00am-20.00pm Taiwan Time. As All online lessons are private 1/1 format, this means the student can determine the entire content of the lesson. Operating directly from the Institutes Online learning lab, the online operating system is web based and requires no software or downloads and can even be accessed from a mobile device. Please contact your admissions team to discuss a suitable schedule of classes.

Kids Mandarin Courses are capped to 12 kids per class maximum. Each week consist of 16 hours per week classes via Mondays to Thursdays 9am–12pm and Fridays 9am–1pm for a fieldtrip in Taipei. Visiting kids to TMI Kids Mandarin camp are divided into separate classes depending on age and language ability. Two separate age group classes (4-7 Years old and 7-14 Years old) are always operating during the Kids season and levels offered are: beginning, low intermediate, intermediate, and advanced. Kids Chinese classes usually start every Mondays during June, July, August, December and January of every year. TMI also accepts large study tour groups from schools overseas and can accommodate 50 Pax. Maximum study tours.

All Chinese Test preparation courses are operated via the Private 1/1 class format. All our specialized & Customized Mandarin courses start each Monday of the year. The Institute has long been collaborating with various Government departments from all over the world to provide interested students with high quality test preparations for exams related to their field. No matter which test you are preparing for, we will have the old papers and strategy for that test prepared. Format can be in Simplified or Traditional and tailored exactly to your requirements. Furthermore, as TMI is recognized by most governments worldwide we will provide you the relevant paperwork and suitable invoicing style to ensure a smooth application process.
This class, which sets a solid foundation for further studies, is for those students who have never studied Mandarin before.
The course will cover the Chinese pronunciation system, tone emphasis, basic communication skills, Chinese characters and simple sentence formation and structure.
Students can expect to speak 350-450 words after completion of this level.

This class is for those students who have already taken the Beginning Mandarin class or who are at the same level of study.
Students will learn more complicated sentence structures and get a deeper understanding of the language. They will converse with native speakers, and understand simple articles.
Students can expect to speak 800-900 words after completion of this level.

Students who have taken the Low Intermediate course or those with an equivalent understanding of Chinese are best suited for this class.
Intermediate Mandarin will advance further in speaking nearly flawless Chinese, easily read the newspaper, and understand most television and radio programs.
Students can expect to speak 1000-1500 words after completion of this level.

Students will learn the basics of classical Chinese, allowing for a richer enjoyment of classical texts such as lyrical poetry, essays or treatises.
Students will independently read Chinese literature in arts, religion, history, culture, economy, etc. They will write essays in various writing styles, including speeches and recitals.
Students can expect to speak 1500-2500 words after completion of this level.
